Discover La Rosière

La Rosière is a high-altitude resort overlooking the Tarentaise valley and facing south towards the Paradiski resorts of Les Arcs and Villaroger and up the valley towards Val d’Isère. Above it is the Petit St Bernard pass into Italy. La Rosière forms the French part of the Franco-Italian ski area Espace San Bernardo which includes La Thuile in the Aosta valley.

La Rosière is an attractive purpose-built ski resort with two distinct parts. The main front de neige area and ski lifts at the upper end of the village, and Les Eucherts which also has ski lift access as well as some attractive chalets and apartment buildings. The Espace San Bernardo gives you the chance to savour French and Italian food and culture, the sun-drenched slopes of La Rosière and the excellent snow record of La Thuile. It is the perfect place for families, beginners and intermediate skiers and is less crowded than its Tarentaise “super resort” neighbours.

  • Altitude 1850m-2800m

  • 152km of ski pistes

  • 38 ski lifts, extensive snow making

  • 1 snow park, 1 fun park

  • 2 hours from Chambery airport

  • Eurostar train station Bourg St Maurice

At 1850m La Rosière is one of the highest resorts in the Alps, the same altitude as Val d’Isère, and it has a good snow record, particularly since its pistes and extensive off-piste are less skied out after a snowfall. Beginners are well served from the village lifts; the skiing is mostly above the tree line and wide-open pistes are perfect for intermediates. The recent high-speed 6 person chairlifts into the Mont Valaisan sector have opened up 5 new red pistes and some wonderful off-piste opportunities. There are 15 black runs for more advanced skiers and La Rosière is now officially on the Freeride Tour. For those whose idea of fun is to put the hard work in first by skinning up the mountain, there are three dedicated ascents next to the pistes. Heli-skiing is available on the Italian side of the mountain. Youngsters will appreciate the fun park and kids from 8 upwards can descend the 700m X-Treme Luge which winds its way through the trees.

A plethora of activities awaits you in the summer months. Over 24 hiking trails of various difficulty are available on the French side of the mountain, taking in forests, lakes and high alpine pastures. There is a 9-hole golf course where the views will distract you during your round. Mountain bikers have over 70km of bike paths for all abilities, with up to 1200 metres drop.  The road up from Bourg St Maurice via Seez at 900m and to the Petit St Bernard pass at 2100m is a favourite for road cyclists each summer.
