Discover Kiroro Ski Resort
Kiroro Ski Resort is situated near the western coast of Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost island. Kiroro is a purpose-built resort which is well known locally and often visited for day trip skiing. It is situated in an area of Hokkaido that enjoys some of the most intense snowfall in Japan and therefore offers some incredible powder skiing on slopes that are densely populated with trees. During the summer this transforms into an abundant mountain landscape of lush forest and it is an area that is particularly popular with walkers. The Kiroro Ski Resort is well known for being family orientated and is free of lift queues due to an excellent lift system.
A perfect dual season resort within 1 hour 40 minutes’ drive from New Chitose airport.
Kiroro Ski Resort is a small resort designed along the model of Canada’s Whistler and Banff resorts to take advantage of the incredible snowfall which falls on this area of Hokkaido. It is particularly well known for the thrill of skiing through the densely populated tree line both on and off-piste.

As well as phenomenal off-piste, there are 3 black runs, 8 red runs and 10 green runs spread over 2 mountain peaks. The abundant snow cover makes for a very long ski season. The runs are beautifully groomed and the lift infrastructure is first class which means you can ski to your heart’s content without losing precious time. With ski trails through the trees this is a powder lover’s paradise with a lenient policy on skiing outside the resort boundary.
Panoramic views of the mountains are enhanced by fresh snowfall hanging from the branches of the tree-lined slopes.
Kiroro is a delight in the summer months as the vast amounts of melting snow breathe life into rivers, creating a lush and verdant landscape with waterfalls and pretty walks.
