We visited Les Gets one summer as a last minute booking because one of our children had a perforated ear drum, so a land-locked holiday was very much the order of the day! Les Gets was suggested by friends as an action packed sports area that would keep them all busy and it really did NOT disappoint us! We will get onto the winter months after a quick look at what is on offer in the summer…
The Bikepark des Gets is a firm favourite for both families and experienced MTB bikers, with over 128km of downhill trails for all abilities. One could spend days exploring the seemingly endless routes and view after spectacular view. We managed the greens and blues and a family cycle over to Morzine and it really was thrilling and easy to follow the routes. Hiking is of course a big draw and there are exceptional panoramas of the Mont Blanc chain as well as numerous farms to pop into on the way to “somewhere”. The mountain restaurants in the area are a joy to dine in and generally sourced from local produce to provide you with endless gastronomic delights! It’s often hard to choose from the menu but then you can always go back for more… If swinging through the trees is your thing then look no further than the adventure park behind the Lac des Ecoles, which is also a beautiful place to while away a few hours when the sun is shining. There are waterslides here and giant inflatables for the children to play on, as well as a café. For thrill seekers there is also paragliding, white water rafting, horseback riding and via ferrata, the list is endless!
In the winter months, one of the many attractions about Les Gets is the resort’s proximity to Geneva airport. It is only 1 hour by car, making it an attractive proposition for ski holidays. Of course, Les Gets is also part of the enormous ski paradise of the Portes du Soleil with over 650km of marked runs, with 201 ski lifts and all spread over 14 resorts. As well as marked pistes there are also Nordic ski trails for all abilities and a beginners’ area which is totally free. If you’re looking for the fun side of things then look no further than the new video park which allows you an opportunity to share your mini boardercross experience on social media. For boarders there is the free cross at the Chavannes snow park as well as a new boarder cross run in the same area. Little ones are not forgotten with a Wild West themed fun area in the Grand Cry territory, which involves ski trails through the woods with sound tracks watched by pumas and bison.
In summary, it is not surprising that ski property for sale in Les Gets sells out quickly and that the resort has experienced such strong property demand that a “mini” Les Gets ski area has emerged in Les Perrières, which is well connected by ski lifts and shuttle buses and has its own resort amenities.
With an expected delivery in 2025 these exceptional apartments have recently been released for sale. Eden Weiss is situated in the Les Perrières district at the entrance to the original village. This is an up-and-coming area of Les Gets and includes an ESF ski school, ski hire shops, restaurants and a supermarket.
