We attended the prestigious Luxury Property Showcase at the Sofitel Wanda, Beijing between June 16-18. This invitation-only event was a great introduction to Chinese HNWI property buyers as well as contacts in private banking, legal and immigration services.
Over the course of the three days we presented our finest Swiss properties, hotels and development projects to Beijing’s movers and shakers, a surprising number of whom had visited Switzerland and appreciated such factors as property freehold rights (you cannot own a property in perpetuity in China), political and financial stability and the lifestyle opportunities that the country offers.
Moreover, it was our pleasure to be the main sponsor for the Inspiring Switzerland show, a breakout VIP event bringing together Chinese investors and representatives from Swiss Tourism and various resorts.
And finally…no trip to Beijing would be complete without a visit to the iconic Great Wall of China, one of the most incredible engineering feats in the world. There is even a toboggan run down from the Wall on the mountain ridge to the Mutianyu base station. Sadly my “need for speed” was thwarted by the sheer number of people making the toboggan descent.
