La Tania is a pretty resort with a family feel about it, largely due to the small size of the village and the safety of the car free village centre. The resort was built to house the journalists covering the 1992 Winter Olympics and has been well thought out with pretty wood clad building blending into the woodland environment and swift connections to the Trois Valleys.
There are an abundance of dual season activities in this quiet and compact village and with ski lifts open throughout the summer it’s possible to enjoy biking, canoeing, canyoning, hiking and horse riding as well as winter activities to include ice karting and ice climbing. There is also an indoor swimming pool with squash courts and a fitness centre.
La Tania is a perfect base for those seeking quieter family time with access to world class skiing.
The Trois Vallées offers over 600km of downhill skiing on 497 pistes with 180 ski lifts and La Tania itself has 150km of downhill skiing with skiing through the pretty tree lined slopes straight down to the resort.
La Tania is suited to all levels of ski ability with easy access to the many resorts making up the Trois Vallées such as Courchevel, Les Menuires, Méribel, St Martin-de-Belleville and Val Thorens via a comprehensive lift system.
Skiing is pretty much assured here all season as the pistes go up to 2,740m and it is also amongst the best in the world. If you head to the left from La Tania you can enjoy the Courchevel Valley and over to the right head over to Méribel and Val Thorens. Skiing paradise.
With predominantly north-east facing slopes it means that powder snow locally can remain untouched for a while.
The real advantage of La Tania is that it is less expensive than most resorts making up the Trois Vallées but offers the same immense ski domain in a quiet and peaceful village setting.
The Trois Vallées offers much in the way of thrill-seeking activities and the lift connections are open all summer giving easy access from La Tania to all that is on offer here.
There is much to explore here with an abundance of hiking and mountain biking as well as parapenting, rafting, canoeing, canyoning and horse riding.
