A discreet and tranquil family resort increasingly seen as an affordable alternative to its 4 Valleys neighbour Verbier, both for holidays and property purchases. At 1500 metres and facing North it is a snow-sure resort providing quick access to Verbier and the huge 4 Valleys ski area with skiing up to 3330 metres.
La Tzoumaz is a discrete and tranquil family resort and has become increasingly popular, both for holidays and property purchases. Situated on the other side of the mountain via the Savoleyres cable car it is just twenty minutes’ ride up and over to Verbier. Being just 1 hour 45 minutes from Geneva airport, it is a popular winter weekend destination.
La Tzoumaz forms part of the 4 Valleys ski area which connects the resorts of Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon via a network of 92 lifts. The La Tzoumaz-Savoleyres area consists of 55km of slopes with a variety of open and wooded runs offering excellent snow conditions. The north-facing aspect ensures a long season. Often the snow conditions are better than on the Verbier side of the mountain, where one connects to the wider 4 Valleys lift system. For non-skiers there are 13.5km of snow shoe trails, skating on the natural ice rink and a 10km long toboggan run, Western Switzerland’s longest.
The village is connected by road to Verbier over the mountain pass which is open in summer, opening up all of Verbier’s summer attractions. Like its 4 Valleys neighbours Nendaz and Veysonnaz, La Tzoumaz is situated on one of the Bisses irrigation channels. These offer 100km of paths which are perfect for walking and mountain biking. More intrepid bikers can try the Verbier-La Tzoumaz bike park as well as the Tour du Mont Fort trails. There is tennis and a heated swimming pool in the village. Thirty minutes away by car is Les Marecottes where you can swim in natural rock pools. Forty five minutes away by car is the famous Aquaparc waterpark on Lake Geneva.
