More Information

Megève

Megève is one of the smartest and most famous ski resorts in the world. A village with a long history, it was remodelled in the 1920’s by the Rothschilds. Medieval cobbled streets weave around the pedestrianised village centre giving it a distinctive "olde worlde" appeal. Megève continues to retain its upmarket status and its sophisticated charm attracts a chic clientele drawn by its dual-season charms. Megève has a certain cachet and combines sophistication and glamour with a 13th century twist. Here you will find luxury hotels, restaurants boasting a total of six Michelin Stars as well as designer shops and boutiques and world renowned après ski. Combine this with a lift pass that includes Chamonix and the surrounding ski resorts and it adds up to a truly unique and special resort. Megève is more than a ski resort – we categorise it as a lifestyle destination like few others.

Winter

Megève accesses 3 ski areas within the Evasion Mont Blanc. The first area includes Mont d’Arbois and Rochebrune. The second area links to St Gervais and Les Contamines, with its famous off-piste. The third area (Les Portes du Mont Blanc) takes in Combloux and La Giettaz and is particularly suited to beginners and intermediate skiers. In total there are 445km of ski pistes and trails and 79 ski lifts. Combined with the Mont Blanc Unlimited ski pass which includes the Chamonix valley, Megève’s ski area is truly extensive and offers skiing below and above the tree line.

The fun doesn’t stop there! Megève’s famous après ski includes bars and restaurants, a casino and four nightclubs in which to party the night away.

This resort has something for the whole family – an important consideration for prospective property buyers.

Summer

Summer in Megève is a pure delight and the real beauty of the village is shown in picturesque splendour. The summer season brings walking and cycling trails leading through forests and meadows. Nestled among mountain pastures, Megève is simply stunning in the warmer months with overflowing flower baskets hanging from its balconies.

Action seekers are well served, with white-water rafting, parapenting, canyoning and mountain biking. For hikers there are over 150km of marked trails. The state of art sports centre offers numerous indoor activities including an ice rink, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a spa and wellness centre.

The Tour de France often passes through Megève and the village hosts music festivals and show jumping.
