VAL THORENS is a popular French ski resort located in the Tarentaise Valley of the Savoie region. This infrastructure is continually being updated to improve the overall skiing experience including the mass exodus of the resort in the mornings and the reverse influx in the afternoons which is well managed with limited queuing. Lift lines away from the main resort are minimal even in the peak season.

Because the resort is totally purpose built, it does have a somewhat “brutal” architectural style, however this means that much of the accommodation options are located in a ski in/ski out position and there is a handy network of ski pistes that criss-cross the resort.
